FROZEN ROPES GRIZZILES TO WORK THEIR WAY TO COOPERSTOWN
Baseball players team up with Madeline’s steakhouse this Valentine season
SALT LAKE CITY— The Frozen Ropes Grizzles 12 year-old baseball team is planning a fundraiser Feb. 9, 2010 at Madeline’s Steakhouse and Grill (Madeline’s) 1133 West South Jordan Parkway in South Jordan. Proceeds from the fundraiser with go toward a team visit to Cooperstown, NY to compete and visit the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. The Grizzles are part of Frozen Ropes, a national baseball and softball training organization.
“As a team we were so honored and excited to have received an invitation to participate in Cooperstown. Cooperstown is a week long program including actual baseball games, baseball education tours to some of the most famous baseball sites,” said Mark Young, coach for the Frozen Ropes Grizzles.
“With the economy the way it is, times are tough for a few of the families on our team,” said Mark. “The boys on the team and I decided that with hard work we could make Cooperstown possible without excluding anyone. I look forward to working with Madeline’s and providing a great night for all who participate.”
Madeline’s will donate half of the restaurant to the Frozen Ropes Grizzlies for the night, where the boys will be seating, serving and clearing tables. The cost for dinner will be $100 per couple and includes a full meal with dessert.
“What a perfect event to give back to the community and help give these young men an opportunity of a lifetime. We choose a day close to Valentine’s Day so couples and families could enjoy a great meal, and avoid the holiday rush. We will also have a silent auction with items including vacation and ski getaways, spa packages, personal training sessions and even home remodeling,” said Adam Wheaton, owner of Madeline’s.
Tickets are encouraged to be purchased before Feb. 4 and may be bought at Busy Bee Realty 879 Baxter Drive, Madeline’s Steakhouse, All Utah Central Credit Unions and the Classic Basket 4700 S 900 E.
